Simon Seelig

Retired Military | International Experience

A native of Wilmington, Delaware, Colonel (Retired) Thomas J. “Simon” Seelig served 28 years of active duty in the United States Army as a Finance Officer and Latin America specialist.

His service included overseas assignments in Panama, Honduras, Argentina, Germany, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, and Afghanistan and stateside assignments with the 101st Airborne Division, Ft. Campbell, KY, and the Pentagon. His final active-duty assignment was as Director, 266th Financial Management Center, Kaiserslautern, Germany

Simon graduated from Lock Haven University, Pennsylvania, in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management, concentrated in Economics and Finance.  He also earned a Masters Degree in Latin American Studies from the University of California, San Diego, in 1999.

Simon’s education also includes graduation from the Western Hemisphere Institute of Security Cooperation one-year course, attendance at the Argentine Army Superior War College (Escuela Superior de Guerra) and the U.S Army Ranger School, Airborne School, and Air Assault School. 

Simon currently lives in Germany with his wife of 21 years, Linda, and their boys Oliver (San Diego State University freshman), and Charlie (10th grade).
