Rodney S. Woodbury is an attorney practicing primarily in the areas of real estate, corporate and business law, and commercial law. He has over 20 years of experience in real estate and business deals, contracts, estate planning, acquisitions and sales, property disputes, entity formation, LLCs, leases, land development, homeowners associations, CC&Rs, water law, construction, finance, and a wide variety of litigation and transactions.
Mr. Woodbury is the former Mayor of Boulder City and served on the City Council there for eight years from 2011 to 2019. He also served on various regional boards, including those of the Southern Nevada Regional Transportation Commission, the Clark County Regional Flood Control District, and the Southern Nevada Health District, where he served two terms as Chairman from 2013 to 2015.
As Mayor, Rod wrote a monthly “Talk of the Town” column in the Boulder City Review and a monthly “Mayor’s Brief” column in the Boulder City Magazine. He frequently appeared on Channel 8’s “Monday Mornings with the Mayors” as well. Rod also contributes a bimonthly article to the Boulder City Magazine entitled “Lawyer’s Edge.”
Mr. Woodbury received his B.A. in English from Brigham Young University in 1992. After a brief career as a local public school teacher and high school basketball coach, he returned to BYU’s J. Reuben Clark School of Law where he served as Executive Editor for the Journal of Public Law and received his J.D. in 1999.
A native of Las Vegas, Rod now resides in Boulder City with his wife, Leslie, who hails from Austin, Texas. They are the proud parents of seven children and seven grandchildren.
In those few moments when he’s not racing from one meeting to the next, Rod enjoys teaching an early morning teenage Bible-study class, coaching youth sports teams, hiking and biking, basketball, skiing, reading biographies and historical fiction, watching classic movies, doing yard work, and just hanging out with his family.
