Climate change is a reality and we can do something about it without limiting the freedom of American citizens. As stewards of this planet, all humankind has a responsibility to do our part to mitigate the effects of climate change – both natural and manmade. Since the founding of our country, Americans have risen to the challenges of the day. Visionary people have developed innovative solutions to the problems we face.
We must not allow radical elements in and out of government to dictate a one-size solution. We must not allow these radicals to take away American freedoms through mandates and government regulations which discourage innovation and strangle our economy.
I understand that climate change is not just an American issue, but rather the entire world must work together to find solutions. The solutions must not create economic or financial burdens for America or American families. Southern Nevada is uniquely positioned to make significant contributions to improve and protect the environment. We ought to continue to lead from the front.
As your representative in Congress, I will support an “all of the above” approach to energy. I will vote against subsidies to “clean technologies” that burden American tax-payers while enriching investors.
