I will fight to protect religious freedoms. Thousands of years before Europeans discovered the American continents, the native inhabitants of this continent led spiritual lives and worshiped God. Pilgrims came to America in search of religious freedom. The founders of our Nation made sure that the US Constitution guarantees religious freedom to all citizens. Ours is a nation “under God.”
I consider myself a religious person. I am a Christian – a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Savior of the entire world. I believe we ought to love others, even our enemies. My faith is central to my life. I believe my faith answers the questions of why we are here, where we came from and what will happen after this life. I respect the right of every person to choose who and how they worship. I have attended Jewish and Muslim worship services, as well as the services of other Christian denominations. I believe there is truth and goodness in all religions.
As your representative in Congress, I will fight to protect your religious freedom.
